The Other Arf dvd collection

Containing Series One and Two of this popular television comedy series that was first aired in 1980. Starring Lorraine Chase and John Standing in this wealthy man falls in love with a working class girl story. The Other 'Arf by Terence Howard (he had worked on the commemorated Campari ad campaign which initiated the television career of model Lorraine Chase), and developed by legendary comedy writers Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais (Porridge, Auf Wiedersehen Pet). The first series also stars Patricia Hodge, Natalie Forbes and a young Caroline Quentin. Charles Latimer, a Tory MP, saves gorgeous model Lorraine Watts from the unwelcome attentions of a lecherous photographer. While Charles is a member of the aristocracy and Lorraine is a born and bred Cockney, their differences does not stop their hastiness into romance, although it promises to be a bumpy journey! The second series sees Lorraine’s hopes of marrying Charles fading with his aristocratic fiancée Sybilla (Patricia Hodge) still very much on his mind. So, showing her great spirit of independence, she choses to move far enough out of town so she’s not always at Charles' beck and call, giving him a little reminder that she's still a free agent. This dvd set also includes the Christmas Special of 1981, 'Away from It All', where Charles plans a very special surprise for the gorgeous Lorraine.
